That Sports Girl's Friday Cheat Sheet
All you need to win your DFW sports weekend

Cowboys Anyone?
The Cowboys open the 2013 season at home against the Giants who have never lost at AT&T stadium since it opened in 2009.  Dallas, however, has never lost to New York in the season opener, posting a 6-0 record against its NFC East rival in the first game of the year.

Cue the generic sports statement: Something's got to give!

Turf being installed at AT&T Stadium on Wednesday

To look your Cowboys gameday best, here are a few luxe look ideas for the game, some casual suggestions and a handful of great clutch purse options that fit within the AT&T Stadium purse policy rules.

In case you're wondering if your cute clutch bag will be allowed into the game, Tracy Kornet and I have the definitive guide to ensuring your small bag works.

Fighting Frogs
24th ranked TCU lost in the season opener to LSU and looks to get to 1-1 on the year against another team from Louisiana when its hosts Southeastern Louisiana Saturday.  The Frogs have a quick turnaround next week when they play Texas Tech in their Big 12 opener Thursday night in Lubbock.

You will see a slew of Frog fans in their TCU Cowboy Boots.  I think they're fun paired with just about anything: a dress, jeans or shorts.

Pony Up

SMU is also looking for its first win of the season after losing its opener to Texas Tech.  The Mustangs host Montana State Saturday at 7pm.  Seven players from Montana State are from Texas.

While you don't see a lot of T-shirts at SMU games, I think this SMU distressed T-shirt  is stylish.  Dress it up with a cute skirt and some wedges.

Mean Green
North Texas looks to improve to 2-0 in its first road game of the year against the winless Ohio Bobcats in Athens.

Rangers Ruling the West?
Yes!

Despite having lost two straight games and four of their last 6, the Rangers woke up this Friday with a half game lead in the AL West.  That's because the A's lost to Houston Thursday.

Texas starts Matt Garza tonight in a series opener against the Angels in Anaheim.  Former Ranger C.J. Wilson has pitched well this year, particularly the last two months.  He is 6-0 since a July 5th loss to Boston.

The Rangers are 10-2 against the Angels in 2013 and most recently swept them in a 3-game series in August.

Derek Holland starts for Texas on Saturday.

Staying in this weekend and hosting a shindig instead?  I am loving Ladies Home Journal's lighter gameday recipes.

I made a non-fried batch of chicken wings just this week.  They were excellent.

In last week's Cheat Sheet, I posted a great white bean dip recipe from Martha Stewart.  It's easy and worth revisiting.

Thank You
