What to Wear to a Stars Game

With the Stars in the playoffs for the first time since 2008, you're going to need a lot of green over the next few weeks.   Turns out finding something stylish to wear to a Stars game is more difficult than you can imagine.


I searched for a relatively affordable and weather appropriate green top to wear to the Stars/Predators game recently and couldn't find a damn thing.

I went to Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, Club Monaco and Brooks Brothers.  If you recall, I tried to find something green to wear to the Mavs/Celtics game with...no luck.  A quick scan online revealed all the usual suspects of sheer t-shirts, which are cute but don't work for me.

I did find these cool Five Point Black Star Bracelets that are great for Stars games, Cowboys games or as a stylish addition to your jewelry wardrobe.

Those bracelets got me the thinking: what's the sartorial solution?  Accessories.  I ended up wearing these green Kendra Scott Danielle earrings I have had for years with a pair of black Tory Burch jeans and a black and blue Zara top to the game.

Three women who were also struggling to find the right mix of stylish yet "Support-the-Stars" clothing and accessories stopped me to ask me about the earrings.  You can see the earrings (barely) in this picture with Pete Weber and Terry Crisp of the Nashville Predators television broadcast team.

The Takeaway 
You can certainly go fully geared up to a game and wear a jersey or t-shirt.  But if you're going to a game after work or will be meeting friends for a drink, it's hard to rock the jersey and T.  Whether they feature a team's logo or are simply in the color scheme of the team you love, accessories are a great solution when you're asking yourself  'What should I wear to the game?"

The good thing about all these wonderful green goodies is that while they are just plain cute, they also work for Dallas Mavericks, University of North Texas and Baylor games.

Dallas Stars Playoff Details 

Dallas will play the Anaheim Ducks, the Western Conference's top seeded team, in the first round of the playoffs. The Stars beat the Ducks in two of the three games they played this season, including the last two.   It's Dallas' first playoff appearance since 2008 when they lost to the Detroit Red Wings in the Western Conference Finals.
